Second Due House Fire In Corinth a Total Loss

Early morning blaze destroys house in Corinth W.V. Around 4:30 a.m. a call came in from Chief 160 of Terra Alta for Oakland to respond Mutual Aid on a structure fire. Truck 44 and Tanker 46 responded to the scene. As soon as units arrived on scene fire was found blowing from both sides of the house. Two firefighters went in for interrior firefighting. The fire was under control in about 4 1/2 hours. Units cleared around 9:00 a.m.

Members Attend Res-Q-Jack Training

Several Memebers from Oakland traveled to station 110 (Friendsville) sunday to attend training on the Res-Q-Jack vehicle stabilization system. Training senerios included a vehicle on its roof, and one on its side. Also in attendance were several members from station 30 (Deep Creek). The training was provided by Mid Atlantic Rescue Systems, Frederick, MD. Special thanks to the Friendsville Fire and Rescue Department for the Hospitality. 3-5-06
